The Unforgetting
The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh, 2024
The Unforgetting is a solo commission at Fruitmarket, Edinburgh to celebrate 50 years of the gallery. The installation including a script, 354 clay figures, a large-scale sculpture as well as an audio work is a result of a two-year research period with the gallery archive. The exhibition highlights the 354 women who exhibited as part of the gallery programme over this 50 year period. Alongside the exhibition, was a performance with Jill Smith (was Bruce), the first women to exhibit at the gallery in 1975.
